Around 31.6% of all adults go untreated for dental issues. Are you one of the ones in danger of losing any of your teeth due to poor dental care? If it's too late, don't worry a dentist will go over a wide range of replacement options with you, but one will stand out from the rest.

Hybrid dentures are more comfortable than others because they stay in place, they're pretty affordable, and don't hurt as much as you would think they would. They are the perfect option for you if you want your replacement teeth to be as much like the originals as possible.

We're going to go a little more in depth about what hybrid dentures are, and their benefits, so you can see if they are the right fit for you.

1. What Are Hybrid Dentures

Hybrid dentures are created to replace a whole row of teeth via an implant. They fuse to your jaw which means they don't move around. They are designed to also replace missing gum tissue.

Sometimes, a titanium or gold bar is put in to give it additional support. It's surgery which means they can only be removed by your dentist or an oral surgeon. You won't have to remove them to clean them or perform maintenance which is good, because you won't be able to.

2. How are They Different from the Classics

The biggest difference is the one that we've already mentioned, they go into your mouth via implants. This means that they are secure and won't snap out of place, even if you're the most aggressive eater. They have a pink acrylic attached to them to make them look more natural than some dentures.

Unlike other dentures, there is a little gap between the jaw bone and the denture. This just so you can clean them. You can't take them out like regular dentures, however.

Lastly, not only do they have a more natural look, but they're the closest that you'll get to feeling like you still have your original teeth. We'll get into that a little later though.

3. Are They Affordable

Dental implants aren't the cheapest tooth surgery in the world. You'll probably pay over a thousand dollars for just one tooth. This means, that it's hard for the average person to get implants.

Hybrid dentures fix this issue. In this surgery, only four implants are used so it allows for your surgeon to charge much less for them. So, the average person can get back to having the smile that he wants.

You will also save a lot of money in the long run on denture adhesives, cleaners, and pastes.

4. Easy Maintenance

You have to remove your regular dentures every night to clean them and perform maintenance. You also have to put on the adhesive to make sure they stay secure while you go about your day.

Only a dentist can remove hybrid dentures so all you have to do is have said dentist remove them and clean them during visits. There is no need for messy adhesive, and you don't have to soak them in a solution overnight. It's a huge time saver in the long run.

So if you're the get-up and go type of person, or just like sleeping in a little bit, these dentures are great.

5. Are they Painful

When you think surgery, you probably think about pain which might be your only reason for not going through with this procedure. Well, we're here to tell you that it's actually pretty pain-free.

Your surgeon will supply you with plenty of anesthetics to keep the pain away during the surgery. After the surgery, you'll be supplied with all the pain medications you'll need while you're healing. So, unless you skip out on taking your dose of pain pills, you'll never be given the chance to really be in any pain.

6. They're More Comfortable

If you have hybrid dentures, you can basically go through your life as normal. They'll be created to not be much bigger than your natural teeth. This means that it won't be hard for you to adjust to them.

They won't become dislodged when you're kissing, talking, or eat so you can avoid any embarrassing hangups that could happen with traditional dentures.

7. Who can Benefit from Hybrid Dentures

These dental implants are great for anyone who has lost their teeth in an accident, or to a mouth related disease. They are also good for someone who has lost a large portion of their jawbone from wearing traditional dentures for years upon years.

So really, there is a smaller list of people who can't benefit from these dentures than those who can. They're just about for everyone.

8. Are there Any Drawbacks

The only drawback is that there is still a way for your favorite foods to get stuck under them. If the gum manages to get infected by it, you'll be in for a world of hurt.

The good news is that this rarely happens, and if you're seeing your dentist regularly then the chances are seriously slim. This one drawback isn't a complete game changer. There are still more benefits than setbacks.
