Plano, TX cosmetic dentists, Dr. Ron Bosher and Dr. Tim Nguyen, provide nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, as a temporary sedation method. Laughing gas is used to help patients feel comfortable and at ease during their procedure. We are able to control the amount of gas the patient receives by placing a mask over the patient’s nose. Nitrous oxide is a colorless, odorless gas that makes the patient feel relaxed. It is not designed to put patients to sleep. They will be able to respond to our requests and directions. Plano Nitrous Oxide Specialists, Dr. Ron Bosher and Dr. Tim Nguyen, are happy to provide nitrous oxide for patients who my feel nervous or scared about their procedure.

What to Expect
Nitrous oxide is administered through a small hood that goes over the nose. The patient is instructed to breath normally, but deeply, and usually within just a few minutes they will feel its relaxation effects. Nitrous oxide will not put you to sleep, but many patients are so relaxed, it is not uncommon for them to go to sleep for some of the procedure. The effects of nitrous oxide wear off very quickly, which means patients will be able to drive themselves to work or home after their appointment. These effects help our patients to relax so that the dental procedure can take place without excessive worry.
It is our goal to ensure that every patient is comfortable and relaxed during their dental procedure. Nitrous Oxide costs roughly $35 per visit.
